There is something incredibly special about those first few days with a brand new baby—the quiet, the softness, the way time seems to slow down just a little. This recent newborn session was a perfect reflection of that fleeting season, filled with gentle moments and timeless details.

From the very beginning, this sweet baby settled beautifully into each setup, allowing us to create a variety of looks while keeping everything calm and cozy. I always prioritize comfort and safety first, following baby’s lead and allowing plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and snuggles. That relaxed approach is what helps create those peaceful, sleepy images every parent loves.
We started with a simple, neutral setup, focusing on baby’s delicate features—tiny fingers, soft cheeks, and those perfectly curled poses that only newborns can do. There’s something so powerful about keeping things minimal. Without distractions, the emotion and sweetness truly shine through.

As the session continued, we incorporated a few styled setups to add variety while still keeping that soft, timeless feel. A sweet swing setup added a touch of whimsy, while a dreamy moon scene brought in a more artistic element. These setups are always carefully styled and fully supported to ensure baby is safe and comfortable at all times.

One of my favorite moments from this session was capturing those little expressions—the sleepy smiles, the gentle stretches, and the peaceful rest. These are the details that change so quickly, and preserving them is what makes newborn photography so meaningful.

We finished with a cozy, wrapped setup, which is always a favorite for babies who love to feel snug and secure. Wrapped poses not only help keep baby calm, but they also create those beautifully polished, classic images parents adore.

Every newborn session is unique, but they all share the same goal: to freeze this incredibly short and precious stage in a way that feels natural, soft, and timeless. These are the images that will be looked back on for years to come—the ones that bring you right back to how tiny they once were.
If you’re expecting, the best time to schedule your newborn session is during your second trimester to ensure availability. Sessions are typically held within the first 2 weeks after baby arrives, when they are still extra sleepy and curled.
It’s always such an honor to document these first moments, and this session was no exception—simple, sweet, and full of love.
