There’s something so timeless and beautiful about a newborn session filled with rich, deeper tones. While light and airy photography will always be popular, I absolutely love creating sessions with warm earthy colors, dramatic textures, and cozy, moody setups that feel both elegant and intimate.

For this sweet newborn session, we focused on a palette of deep rusts, warm browns, muted cranberry tones, and soft neutrals. These richer colors photographed beautifully against baby’s creamy skin tones and created such a cozy, peaceful feel throughout the entire gallery.

From the very beginning of the session, baby settled perfectly into all of the warm wraps and layered textures. We incorporated a variety of setups while keeping the overall look cohesive and timeless. The darker tones added so much depth and warmth to each image, giving the session an artistic feel while still keeping the focus completely on this beautiful new baby.

One of my favorite parts of using richer colors in newborn photography is how well they highlight all those tiny newborn details — the delicate eyelashes, rosy cheeks, sleepy expressions, and tiny curled-up poses. The warm earthy tones create contrast without overpowering the image, making baby truly stand out.

We used a mix of textured wraps, simple layering pieces, delicate floral accents, and cozy fabrics to add dimension while keeping everything soft and natural. Each setup flowed seamlessly into the next, creating a gallery that feels polished and connected from start to finish.
