This newborn photo session FAQ list was created from my 10+ years as a newborn photographer to give you the confidence you need to prepare for your newborn session!
Let’s get into it!
The best time to schedule a newborn session is between 7-9 days old. During this time, newborns are typically sleepier and more cooperative, allowing me to capture those adorable, curled-up poses.
It’s recommended to book your newborn session well in advance, ideally during your second trimester. This ensures that you can secure a spot with me and have peace of mind knowing that everything is arranged before your little one arrives.
Choosing the right newborn photographer is essential for capturing timeless and beautiful images of your baby. Take the time to research local photographers and browse through their portfolios to find a style that resonates with you. Look for someone experienced in newborn photography who prioritizes safety and comfort during the session.
Newborn sessions typically last between 2 to 3 hours to allow for feeding, soothing, and plenty of breaks for your little one. I will create a warm and comfortable environment for the session, and guide you through poses while ensuring your baby’s safety and comfort at all times.
I have all kinds of props, blankets, wraps, headbands and hats for both boys and girls in a range of colors and shades. However, if you have specific items or sentimental props you’d like to incorporate, feel free to bring them along. I also have extra diapers, wipes and almost
anything else you would need.
Absolutely! Including family members, such as parents and siblings, in the newborn session is a wonderful way to capture the love and connection within your growing family. Your photographer will ensure that everyone feels comfortable and natural in front of the camera while capturing those heartwarming moments.
