A Sweet ONE | Fort Worth First Birthday Photographer

Turning one is such a fun milestone to celebrate! This little guy came into the studio for his one year old photography session, and we captured a mix of simple, classic portraits before ending the session with a fun cake smash.

For first birthday sessions, I love starting with portraits before bringing out the cake. This gives us a chance to capture those sweet little expressions, smiles, and newly-one personality while everyone is still clean and happy.

Simple One Year Old Portraits

We kept the first part of this session simple and timeless. Neutral colors and minimal props kept the focus on this adorable one year old. At this age, little ones are usually on the move, so I love capturing a variety of sitting, standing, crawling, and playful images that show off their personality.

These simple portraits are some of my favorites because they focus on your baby just as they are at this stage. Their little expressions, smiles, and personality will change so quickly, making these photos especially meaningful to look back on.

Time for Cake!

Once we finished the traditional portraits, it was time for the fun part—the cake smash!

For this little one’s cake smash, we kept the setup simple with blue, white, and neutral details. A cake smash doesn’t have to be elaborate to be adorable. Sometimes a simple setup allows your baby’s expressions and personality to be the star of the photos.

Some babies dive right into the cake, while others are a little more cautious. Either way, we capture all of those funny expressions, curious little fingers, and messy moments that make a first birthday cake smash so special.

Celebrating a Big Milestone

Your baby’s first year goes by so quickly. From those tiny newborn days to crawling, standing, and celebrating their very first birthday, there is so much change in just twelve months.
